Matthew has over 30 years of experience in landscape planning and urban design, with an emphasis on the preparation of Landscape/Townscape and Visual Impact Assessments, Landscape Capacity/Sensitivity Studies, as well as on Landscape Strategies/Masterplanning and Design Guidance. A Chartered Landscape Architect, Matthew has worked for both private and public sector clients, on a variety of residential, infrastructure, renewable energy and urban regeneration projects. He has also been responsible for the design and implementation of some high profile green space and public realm enhancement schemes, bringing strengths in planting design, ecological design/management, and has often secured the introduction of public art, to create distinctive, sustainable places.
His experience also includes the conservation and management of protected AONB/National Park and Heritage landscapes, where he has advised on constraints and opportunities for change/new development. He has regularly prepared and given expert evidence at public inquiries and hearings.
